Hi, I'm Lele. Opening Bacaro Quebrado was the first real step towards my dream: creating a cosy little corner where anyone can feel at home, even miles away from home. I wanted a family-style refuge, where food is made with love, passion and quality ingredients, with no compromises.
When someone walks through our door, they're not just a customer to me: they're a guest, and I treat them exactly as I would treat friends invited to dinner at my place. I love having a chat, joking around, making friends and feeling part of their group.
In the beginning I did pretty much everything on my own: the bar, the kitchen, the tables. Over time we've grown — but not in size: we're still our beloved little bacaro! What has really grown is our reputation. Seeing people come to us through word of mouth, or curious after reading the reviews other travellers have kindly left, is an immense joy.
And yet, I and the way I do things have stayed exactly the same. Because a real bacaro isn't made by formality, glossy décor or identical dishes: what counts here is substance, authentic flavours and the warmth of the welcome.
